AddRAM, could part of that bigness come from the fresh install saving old Windows?

Addendum: Later, I was gently reminded that OP stated fresh install; so my Q is moot.

No way, Windows isn't that bloated :D
Most likely you installed on a partition with some previous data there, so you're seeing the combined fresh install plus whatever was there beforehand.

Not if it`s a new 2 TB drive.

We need to see the DM shot.

What do you mean by Disk Management shot? Just a screen capture or is there a file I need to dig up?

Edit... This is a fresh drive out of the box, sealed in its mylar jacket. It is installed as a second OS on a dual boot system Win XP Pro x64 is on the C drive another 2TB drive. The Win 7 Pro x64 is on the E drive.

Well, there`s something else on there besides windows taking up the space.

Why is it labeled E if your booted into Windows 7, it should be labeled C and the other drives should have other letters.

Did you install 7 from within XP ?

Did you boot from the dvd ?

I would install again and delete the entire drive to unallocated space and re install 7.

You should also unplug the other 2 drives when you install 7, that way you can just hook them back up and use the 1 time boot menu key to boot into XP or W7

XP was my first install so it's on the C drive and yes I installed Win 7 from within XP, I didn't say I was good at this ;) I have AOMEI Partition Assistant installed on my XP side so I should just wipe the drive with it and start over, right? And not do the install from inside XP?
