Hi team.

I ran the Win 7-64 Beta for a few months and it was rock-solid. Never had a problem at all. I was thrilled.

Yesterday, I did a clean install of the RC, and I've got lot's of issues.

I've had 9 random BlueScreen crashes, all while the computer was idle and I was in another room.

Boot times are around 3-4 minutes.

When shutting down, the pretty new blue artwork with the words "shutting down" stays on screen for over 10 minutes. It won't shut down, just hangs on that screen.

Any thoughts? Blow it up and try again? I can post the minidump from the BSOD crashes if any one is interested.

This is a clean install.

I have Vista running on a seperate drive, and I formatted the Win7-Beta drive prior to installing the RC. I'll give it another go, but I'm doubtful, seeing as there was nothing on this drive to corrupt the installation.

Thanks.

Hi, welcome to the forums.

If you can get the minidump file that would be handy to see if there's anything that we can do.

Although you shouldn't have to do these...

1. Have you tried turning off UAC in Control Panel User Accounts, reboot and see if you can get the dump file after getting to the desktop?

2. Have you also tried to send the minidump to a compressed folder and then copy the zip file to the desktop?

3. If all else fails, boot into safe mode (F8) and go to c:\Windows\Minidump to get the minidump file
