Win 7 rc Warning????

This is just odd. It has happened twice now. First on my x86 pc and just now on my Studio xps laptop. Windows action center alerts me to the fact that I do not have the most recent ,up to date version of Firefox. I do. 3.5.2 as well as the latest flash.
I was thinking that I might as well install FF fresh and see if that calms action center down. Then I ran into the fact that there is a 64 bit version of FF 3.5? I had NO idea this was the case. Do any of you use it (64 bit FF) if so what are the differences, pros /cons etc. I worry about losing a lot of my plugins and extensions. As well would a moz back up of an x86 profile restore to a 64 bit version? Man, I cannot believe I had not heard of the 64 bit ver.
Regardless though, it does not seem to be the issue re the action center flag to "update firefox" as it is happening on my x86 machines as well. WTF?
I know this was a lot of stuff in one post but it all sort of got sprung on me @ the last moment and I do not have a lot of time today to screw around with this stuff. Deadline! Any help,guidance would be utterly brilliant.

I'm running FF 3.5.2 on my 64bit system with no problem. i believe the FF 64bit is in beta and i'd avoid that until you get the Win7 RTM.
If FF is working ignore the action ctr flag. remember you using an old beta.

I have had the 64 bit version of firefox but Adobe does not have a 64 bit version of flash yet so a lot of pages can't be viewed properly. That was a deal breaker for me so I'll stick with 32 bit version until there is a 64 bit version of flash.

As I see it, the main problem with the 64 bit version of FF at the present time is that not many extensions work with it yet.

Well it's the rc and I just burned out on the build trip. I've ordered Ultimate so I also kind of want to keep any surprise (if there are any) left for Oct. 22. Otherwise I concur with your advice. I was just puzzled , yet oddly please, that Windows was warning me about a possible outdated firefox install.

Like wise for me regarding IE 64bit. It would be nice to see Adobe get their act together on the security front as well as the 64 bit one.

I figured as much and without extensions I might as well run chrome. Well if they ever put out a ver that works with Win 7 64. Anyone know when that might be? I know the linux one is out.

Windows 7 RC 7100 is not an "old Beta" .... it is infact, the "release candidate" ... it will work until March of 2010, then it starts it's warning messages that it's about to expire.

Quite so on being RC release. IMHO RC 7100 was a very poor excuse for being called RC. It probably did more to drive ppl away from Win 7 than anything else... now again this is MO.
