Win 7 Remote Streaming Question

Hello All!

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere, I couldn't find it.

I have just set up remote streaming between my laptop and desktop, and its awesome. However, my boot drive is a tiny 96 gb ssd which does not have room for any of my media. Thusly, my media is stored on a seperate hdd within my desktop.

Herein is my problem: Using remote streaming, I am only able to access the Documents, Pictures, Videos, and Music libraries on my desktop, which seem to be stored on my SSD boot drive, and are therefore barren. I keep all my media on the separate hdd, is there a way to set Windows 7 Remote Streaming to allow me to access that media folder on the seperate hdd, say from a coffee shop somewhere?

Thank you so much in advance,
G

Hi Beta!

Thanks so much for the reply.

I have a question about your directions:

Do you know if by following what you've instructed, I will be able to view the media on the separate hdd remotely-- as in not from my home network? Like at an airport, on university wifi, etc?

I guess that is my ultimate goal. Thanks again mate.

You will only be able to see it a home on your own network. To do the other thing I know about 50% of what needs to be done to make it work. In "My computer" you will see on the left side your "Libraries." Right click on each one and click on "Properties." from there you can a locations.
