Win 7 SP1 not auto-installed & old updates popup after manual install?

Just found out Win 7 SP1 was not auto-installed in a netbook and a home PC today, even though both machines were set up to auto-update. The SP1 was sitting in the Windows update notification. Is this normal?

Also after manually installing SP1 (i.e. click OK in Windows update), some old updates started to pop up and asked to be installed. I suppose they were for the SP1. Is this normal?

Just hoping this is not some kind of virus.

Does everything else appear to be running normally?

Re a possible infection.

How about getting a second opinion?
Download Malwarebytes free version.
Install it.
Update it immediately & do a full system scan.
Let us know the result please.

MBAM did find some known issues with some messaging and streaming software. I removed all of them and rescanned clean. They seem unrelated to the original issue of delayed appearance of SP1 though.

What Anti Virus have you currently?
A reminder...
If you plan on using MSE, make sure you remove the current Anti Virus using their appropriate uninstall tool.

The netbook had MSE since day one and the home PC is running Avira free version. Neither of them complained about the things that MBAM would find though. Sometimes I wonder if MBAM is too aggressive (picking out things that are harmless)?

I've never heard of MBAM finding any false positives. Can't say the same for any other AV program I'm too familiar with.

It does have false positives - many infact - but so do all anti-virus. However, MBAM deal with false positive reports fast and efficiently: False Positives - Malwarebytes Forum
