I working on a client's machine attempting to install SP1.
As per the attached CheckSUR log - two manifest files are empty and I get the error msg - CSI Manifest Zero Length.
There is a third manifest with a similar name - see attached png for list. The 16385 file is good - 16597 and 20717 are empty.
Here are the contents of the 16385:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<assembly xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v3" manifestVersion="1.0" description=".NET Framework component" displayName=".NET Framework mscorlib.Resources" copyright="Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation. All Rights Reserved." isolated="false">
<assemblyIdentity name="mscorlib.Resources" version="6.1.7600.16385" processorArchitecture="msil" language="en-us" publicKeyToken="b77a5c561934e089" /> </assembly>
I cloned the 16385 twice changing the version number to match that of the other two files (16597 & 20717) and put the new files in the C:/windows/temp/checksur/winsxs/Manifests folder but then I got the error "CSI Located Replacement: Invalid (Catalog)" error in the Checksum log.
After running Checksum SP1 install fails with the error code 80073712.
In looking at other posts I'm hoping that someone can provide me with accurate versions of my two empty manifest files.
Thanks so much in advance! This is driving me crazy!!!

I've uploaded a file - ptbaa.zip - to my SkyDrive at Noel's SkyDrive Please download and save it. Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all… Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder ptbaa in the same place. Open this folder - there should be one folder inside it (Manifests)
Copy the content of the manifests folder (.manifest files) into this folder:
C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests
Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)
Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

The files are actually out of my live install - they are from a .NET update, and it's easier to take them from a working installation than to extract them from the update (always assuming you can work out which one it is!).
If you check the hash value for your files, you'll probably find that they are different to the ones I provided - it only takes a single character to change to dramatically change the hash value.

It could be a while Last time I was in the US was around 1999, I think - in Chicago (I left with a raging hangover after Paddy's day - I blame the green Miller's the bar was serving! )
