win 7 sp1

I have gone back to win 7/64 and I was trying to install sp1, however the system wont allow it; the update service is not running; I checked it in services and it is set to auto and the display shows that it is running; not seen this problem before.
I did have win 10 installed, however, it mucked so many of my audio software programs; after a few, I got fed up with it.
