Hello new to the forums. I have been having a problem with crashes on my system with the BCCode 124. The crashes are pretty frequent almost three a day whether browsing on the internet or playing fallout 3 lol. The computer was built by a friend for me this past Jan. Any help will be appreciated, thanks guys.

How can I find out if my computer is overclocked?

You could use this Tool to find out CPUID. The best way to reset back to Normal is to remove the CMOS battery for few minitues and put it back or just reset the BIOS to default settings.

Hope this helps,
Captain

I had same 124 code - i THINK I solved by swiching off stepping in the bios - i also used driver genius pro for all the missing chipset drivers . It seems that my quad core was a bit messed up with this speed steping feature. I wish you the best of luck

no prob. I have been getting blue screens quite often probably 9 or 10 of them today. Its the same code 124. Anything can trigger it too its ridiculous. One way for sure is browsing the device manger it for sure gets it after that. I am going step by step through the first post. I have updated all my drivers, made sure I wasnt overclocking, turned off speed stepping in Bios and now I am about to install the updated version of Bios.

just for an update - i also got a BSOD code 124 thought i had solved the problem turning off stepping in bios hovever i have went 10 days solid without one - its so fustrating - .
Mine started aftering installing a brand new cpu - i put the old one back in but no change i have tested everything but am at a loss now - the dump files must be of no use or they are to difficult to understand as i have posted them so many times -
the 124 stop code means possible hardware fault but i have ran sweet for 10 days ??? Gl m8
