Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit - restarting after pressing start-shutdown

Hi,


First post here and looking for help with this problem...


Computer custom built and worked perfectly for about 2 months. When shutting down, i go to start then press shut down and the computer looks like shutting down, screen goes blank and within 3-5 seconds you see the power lights on the tower lighting up and computer boots up again.


Attached is the file SF diagnostics....


Look forward for any help from where I can start.

Now on to the problem:

1.) Have you added any new hardware recently?
2.) Changed any software?
3.) Does safe mode have the same problem?
4.) What security software do you use?

Hi there...apologies for bumping the thread...first time here and learning the system...as for the answers:

1. no new hardware
2. latest software eset nod32 antivirus
3. safe mode gives random results of restarting on shutdown much as normal mode
4. malware bytes pro and just recently eset nod32

Ok so the issue occurs even on safe mode then?

I believe that sfscan has resolved the problem...i will keep on checking but after a number of shutdowns, the computer does not restart...so hope for the best and will keep you posted.

unfortunately, problem or rebooting after shutdown reappeared...i went into event viewer after following some posts here and noted the following if this is of any help to you in assisting me:

Summary page events: Error, Source WMI, Event ID 10, Task Category None

Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.

Summary page events: Critical, Source Kernel Power, Event ID 41, Task Category (63)

The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

First one (WMI) occured during yesterday's shutdown....the second one (kernel power) i noted that maybe this occured when it happened the first time.

Any assistance is appreciated.

How old is your power supply?

What wattage?

Notice any issues playing games?

Have any problems when running a stress test such as prime 95?

system is mostly brand new....4months at the most

wattage is 900w

no issues playing games or in any other operation of the computer

no problems running stress test and infact prime 95 is what I use with results passed

2.) Drivers causing problems maybe? Look under rb: Type in the search-"performance information and tools" without quotes and choose it. Click advanced tools. Under performance issues is anything listed there?


3.) Maybe a repair install? http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html


4.) If after all these, try replacing the power supply as a test.
