How are you trying to connect to your windows XP PC? Network shares or Remote desktop?

I am having a similar problem trying to connect to my XP PC from my windows 7 PC. I have 3 PCs connected thru the router and have been trying to get them to network together. I have followed the directions on setting up the win 7 for working with XP and even checked the box to turn OFF passwords and checked the let user accounts and pasaswords to connect to other computers. I don't have any passwords on any of my computers. The win7 will connect to one of the XP PCs even when the workgroups don't match, but the other XP PC asks for user name and password to connect, whether it is in the same work group or not. What is going on???

I solved my own issue: I had taken this XP PC off the network previously. Restarted the network and its ok now. Thanks anyway!
