Win 7 update wont work

Hi all

Wondering If someone can help

I have recently had to to a fresh install of Win 7 - I used the guide on here to do UEFI clean install on new ssd.

All went well - except that windows update does not work - when I click 'check for updates' it just gets stuck refreshing and doesn't work

I have tried sfc /scannow in cmd - all came up ok

and even tried running this: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=49540

Also I have ensured the Microsoft key is verified and genuine to receive updates

but still no luck - any ideas what to do next?
