You need the 7sp1 64 bit dvd for this.

1. d/l the little https://www.dropbox.com/s/6zn921fn40on497/pe764v15.zip


2. Rt click it >Unblock>Apply>OK. Extract it onto the root of your drive. You will have C:\PE764.

3. Rt click and run as adminstrator on PE7x64.cmd. It will ask you to browse to the dvd, or the installation files folder.

4. If you have any of the following already installed on your running os , they will be added from your hard drive into your winpe:

EasyBcd

Macrium Reflect FREE ( also works for the paid versions )

Partition Wizard Home Edition.

AOMEI Backupper

Free AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard (also works for pro v5.5 )

Partition Guru ( Free or Pro)

Paragon Backup and Recovery 2014 free

( Plus any paid paragon program if you have installed either the Recovery Media Builder, or the Boot Media Builder that you can d/l from your Paragon Account)

5. You will see it copying, adding drivers, etc. It is all automatic, until after a few minutes, it asks if you want to make an .iso. If you turn off your a/v, it will be quicker. It looks like this:

Do you need to enter your Product Key to use the DVD?
I notice that the Macrium WinPE disc has never asked for one.

Is it possible to add other programs?
Some examples:

• Active@ Hard Disk Monitor (SMART and temperature data)
• Defraggler
• Process Explorer (does the disc still have Task Manager?)
• Wireshark (network monitor)

I'm not familiar with all of the programs you listed, so they may already functions similar to the examples I listed.

No.

Yes. It creates a folder called 4. All the files are in there. You can add stuff into the 4\program files folder if you like. Then capture it as a bootable .wim. That is why I left it there.

Yes, task manager is in there. Process explorer can run portably in there, tho. I have no idea why you would want it in pe.

I don't know what dependencies Wireshark has. Most of the vc 80 and vc90 runtimes will be in the pe, as will Net frame 2.

Yes, task manager is in there. Process explorer can run portably in there, tho. I have no idea why you would want it in pe.

It was probably a bad example.
I just looked at my monitors Start Menu folder and picked some names.

Yes, if you are going to remake it. Probably easier to put them in bin\w764\program files before you run the PE7x64.cmd.

Portable programs will be fine as long as they don't need net frame 3 or 4. Net frame 2 programs should run.

I have to download a W7 SP1 ISO first.
The last time I tried to make one, it failed during the "Preparing Your Desktop" stage.

Worse my operating systems HDD seems to be dying.
I've had to "fix" it twice this week, because my PC locked up and then refused to boot.
I couldn't boot into Linux Mint either.

Of course Check Disk (chkdsk /f /R) reported no errors.
I'll have to download the WD HDD tool.

I think I broke XP (this morning) when I used the Macrium Boot Repair option.
If I'm lucky it might be a power supply issue.
My power LED has been acting strangely recently (randomly not running at full brightness).

I've got the ISO and my PC has been behaving itself.

I think that the problem was that the useless SATA cable somehow worked itself loose from the connector.
I hate those SATA connectors.

Before I start I have a couple of questions (I guess that you edited your post - post #10).

There are some drivers in the d/l , they will be added automatically, usb3.0 mainly. If you want to include/remove any drivers, just add or remove them in PE764v2\BIN\Drivers.

Taskbar pin should be:

PINT %SystemRoot%\system32\cmd.exe,Taskband

If you have the 7sp1x64 dvd already, it only takes 6 or 7 mins for the program to make winpe for you.

When you add Portable Apps, are they added inside the WinPE or added to the root of the drive with a program Like PStart (this is the program I use anyways) when adding portable apps withen the PE, it adds that much data to the amount of RAM it takes up, correct? So it's Always best to add your apps in the root of the drive with PStart as a launcher for your programs, which should be tidied up in a Folder called "Portable Apps"

I don't use pstart. The idea is everything is in the wim and run from ram. All the tools I use are in mine, just in the program files folder. With a lot of very large programs in there, including the mighty paragon, it comes out just under 400mb. It will be tight to run the 64 bit on 1gb ram , but you won't be running 64 win7 on 1gb anyhow.

I also have a 32 bit versions which are smaller and will be ok on 1gb ram.

I hand build my pe, the way I like it. This is a way of creating my build (almost) just by using the 7 dvd as the source.

I use WinBuilder, then change little things, and add my (about 1gb) of apps to the root of the drive in a folder called Portable Apps and use PStart as a launcher, because of the wide use of apps I use, I plan on trimming down soon, but havn't gotten to it yet But I Will try this program, thanks very much
