Been tackling this problem for over a year now, with a few installs of Windows 7 that ended up making me go back to XP. Well now I have a dual boot with XP SP3 and Win 7 HP x64. The problem is that I can't connect to the internet while using a wireless adapter on Win 7, the wired connection works with Win 7 though, and the wireless USB adapter (Zonet ZEW2546) works on XP. The only pair that doesn't work are the zonet and Win 7. I've tried just about solution I could find, to no avail. I have an EVGA P55v SLI mobo - which I've heard isn't great with wireless, but if it works with XP it should be possible with 7 too. Win 7 is a fresh install so the problem is not antivirus or another program. I'm really hoping for a solution here, here is a copy of ipconfig /all (The Realtek wireless LAN utility is the USB adapter, and I am connected by wire.) Thanks!

I was wondering about that, could you tell me how? I'm fairly computer savvy but networking is certainly not my strong point.

I'm not home right now so I can't give it a shot, but it does say for ethernet, and the DHCP is disabled on the wireless (which is the only thing with a problem). Thanks

I just enabled DHCP, I forgot I had set it to obtain a certain IP because it wasn't working automatically, and it still isn't. Any more ideas? I'm really hoping for a solution this time around, XP is getting old :(

Pls. check your router setting for any Mac filtering, disable it for now.

Verify that you have the latest driver for your Realtek from the manufacturer's site.

I haven't tried disabling MAC, how do I do that? I have the latest driver, and yes I read that thread before.

Click here: http://192.168.1.1 to access your router's Control Panel. It will prompt you for the username and password and you shd have these info. Then navigate around your router's setting and locate Mac Filtering then disable it for now and save the new changes.

According to the router settings, no cards on the network have a MAC address, so I'm assuming that's not it, any other suggestions?

There is only one network in the area, mine and I can sometimes see it, however it say it's unable to connect. Once or twice it actually connected randomly, because I set up a profile with the SSID and the WEP key, but it disconnected after a restart. Win 7 is a fresh install I have ABSOLUTLEY nothing installed accept the motherboard drivers and wireless driver.

Alright...let's try something else. Pls try each one, there's no need to proceed to the next task if it works.

Remove all network wireless profiles stored from your computer the add your own SSID. If it's encrypted make sure to type the correct network key.
http://www.home-network-help.com/delete-wireless-network.html

Update the router's firmware to the latest. You may download this from the manufacturer's site. use a wired connection to manually install the latest firmware.

Remove the wireless encryption see if you're able to connect or try WEP then apply the same setting to your computer. If all is well, you may try WPA2 Security, so that your wireless network will be a lot more secured.

Change the wireless channel to either 1, 6 or 11. See if you can connect and get a great signal from your router.

Another update will be nice.

Dump WEP and use WPA2/AES. You'll probably notice a more solid connection.

I have not tried disabling security, and I will, but i have tried everything else without any luck. I also can't use WPA because other computers on the network are older and the cards in them don't support it, anyway where I live security isn't a huge worry.

In this thread I was hoping to see if anyone knew anything about the EVGA P55v SLI, as it seems to not always work well with wireless. I've obviously done some research on it, but I was wondering if anyone knew anything else on it.

Thanks

Before disabling the wireless security from your router, try updating your router's firmware to the latest.

An update will be appreciated.
