win explorer differences from xp

explorer on win 7 (non classic) has changed the address bar so it is no longer obvious
with two windows opened on two different drives which window is opened on which drive and path.
I am not sure of the terminology but I will call it a tree view.
I tend to do a lot of file deletions and copy/paste operations between two drives and not being
able to see the entire path makes me nervous. One aspect for the better though is that
I am now changing some bad habits like using shift delete.

The solution for the address bar issue has been to use explorer++

Also I have to wonder about removing the up arrow?

Functionality is still the same, copying the address bar should copy the folder etc.

Your address bar shows something like this:

[icon] > Computer > C-Win7 (C: ) >

To see the path as in XP just left click in the address bar:

[icon] C:\

I don't like this "new" method of display either - another step backwards in my opinion.

Thanks for the suggestion, I tried it and it does work but only temporarily. Also for some reason
a slight pointing error with the mouse ends up creating a shortcut to a file folder.
I realized that the size of the address field could be increased by dragging the right hand edge.
This helps as the paths I am working with tend to be long. The search box is rather small now
but I rarely use it. I have the status bar at the bottom unclicked as it seems a waste of space
but there is still some type of status display at the bottom that I haven't found a way to remove.
When I right click it the context menu shows size and grayed out properties.
