Recently, when I click close [X] on the program my desktop icons bleed through the program screen and lock the screen.

The only way I found to clear this is to ALT-CTRL-DEL and select TaskManger and WIN Live Mail will close and my system is back to normal. I ran SFC /Scannow which showed no problems, my System Mechanic 10 program showed no problems as well as Norton 360.

Any thoughts apprfeciated.

What happens if you do away with the classic theme (ugh) and try it with Aero enabled? I'm not sure, with your video card, why you'd disable Aero...but that's another topic.

If WLM is the only program doing this, perhaps it would help to do a repair reinstall via "Programs and Features" (Windows Live Essentials).
