Win Live Mail account question

Hello All,


Skipped Vista and went to Win 7 in Dec. Rebuilt system. Decided to use Windows Live Mail. We don't have extraordinary email client needs. But not sure what I may be missing with other free or cheap email clients. (I am an old Eudora user)


Now I have to sign IN to Window Live Mail every time I turn on the program. It does not sign on automatically as checked.


I would like to know all this does for me before I turn it off and close the account..

As long as you do not choose the Connection Option to "Stop Signing In" it should sign in automatically. Try a repair: Programs and Features, highlight Windows Live Essentials, click on repair and in the next window choose repair. It will repair all installed parts of Essentials, including Mail. (This is also needed in 2011 to fix a bug with the Junk Mail filtering.)

You may also notice that your contact list will differ depending on whether you are signed in or not.

Hi bkap and welcome to Windows Seven Forums. I would just like to add a little to the great advice from Ron. I would also suggest that you go to your ISP website and make sure that your configuration is correct, that is just in case you still have a problem after Ron's advice. Your ISP will have some kind of instructions on how to configure Windows Live Mail, and if for some reason they don't just call their customer service.
