win xp problem

hi, i have an accer laptop.i installed windows 7 on it and now i wanted to install xp on it. but when i put the bootable xp cd even if dvd drive is in highest priority it is not booting. i tried with an external dvd drive this time it booted but after some tine it says no mass storage is found. please help me

You can try a change in BIOS .... set the SATA mode from AHCI to ATA. It should work there.

XP is normally on a CD, not a DVD.

Set CD drive to boot first, or tap the F12 key at boot to get a BIOS Boot Menu, choose CD drive.
