Please help if you are able. The shield never leaves the power button because some update got hung up. I Googled which pointed to a Microsoft program to repair Windows updates. The program ran unsuccessfully.

Hi Whiznot,

Please read tutorial & run Update System Info from my OneDrive.

Those fix-it tools usually fail to correct Windows Update for a plethora of technical reasons.

Please download & run AutoSURT64 from my OneDrive. Post CBS folder when tool completes please.

Thanks for the reply. The hung update was a Windows Defender definition update. I downloaded it manually which solved the issue this time. I was doing an install on a friend's computer, finished and gave it back to him.

Awesome @Whiznot!

Glad to hear you corrected the issue!

Please mark your thread solved/resolved.

FYI: AutoSURT64 tool would have run Microsoft System Update Readiness Tool x64, placed the CBS folder & useful logs on your Desktop for perusal!

Footer is a work in progress!

Happy Computing!
