can I increase the "System Reserve Partition" of 100 MB in Win7 Ultimate w/SP1 with Microsoft tools or is only way wit 3rd party program?

Because I´m beginning to have problems with shadow copy and disk imaging and all I have read says that the 100mb system partition can cause this. I´ve been working on this for a week and had no luck. I´m on the verge of backing up file by file to an external drive and then reloading win 7 from my original 9 year old OEM dvd´s and then muddle through reloading all my programs. Restore Point, Backup, Disk Image, etc. do not work. I get a not enough memory error even though I have plenty of disk space both on C and my external drive.

Guys, thanks for responses. I managed to get a program called EaseUS Partition Master and it seems to have solved my problems. I managed to create some unallocated space next to my system partition and then extend it. My back up and shadow copy now work.
