Turn on the public folder share option on all 7 and vista machines.

They are/have been for years using XP Pro & Home, prior to my upgrading one PC to Win7, and buying the Acer with Win7 pre-installed. I have been working with computers since 1982, began on IBM, Zenith, Apple IIc+, Apple IIgs, Compaq, Gateway, HP's....os DOS3, DOS5 DOS6.22, Win 3.0 3.11, 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista.

All PC's & devices are Networked with Linksys E3000 All PC's OS are updated frequently, Linksys Firmware updated, Norton Security Suite v6 is updated, I run frequent virus scans. Norton turns off Windows Firewall to manage using Norton.

This PC running 7, with Linksys Advisor installed, shows all 7 PC's, PDA, Tablet, SmartPhones, Wireless Printer, a total of 13 devices active when they are turned on.

At this moment, I have the Vista Laptop (Wireless), a Desktop XP Pro, & Win7, wired & running.

This Win7 PC will see the other Win7 PC, and Vista, however I cannot access the Vista Laptop, however Vista can see and open files on this Wn7 PC

But Vista or Win7 cannot see any of the XP PC's....however All PC's access the Internet.

Network & Sharing Center shows all systems go, Home Network, Local Area Connection

Client for Microsoft Networks
File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks
Pure Networks Device Discovery Driver
Pure Networks Wireless Driver
Internet Protocol Version 4 & 6 TCP/IP
Link-Layer Topology Discovery Mapper I/O Driver
Link-Layer Topology Discovery Responder
HTC NDIS Protocol Driver

XP's were configured using Network Setup Wizard "This Computer connects to the Internet through a residential gateway or through another computer on my network" same Workgroup, with Turn on File and Printer sharing - Windows Firewall will be configured to allow file and printer sharing on your network.

And I would think once Norton was installed and configured, it would configure the same and then as it asks to turn off Windows Firewall, to better manage than Windows could/would.

I get a good Ping from XP to the IP of the Win7 & Vista PCs and visa verse. XP has Client for Microsoft Networks, File and Printer Sharing for MS Networks, Microsoft TCP/IP version 6, Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)

I ran the check Incoming Connections and receive "Windows requires more information to diagnose the problem" however nothing specific is mentioned as to what the problem is or what information more is needed.

I have never had this problem before going to Win7. For years I have used Networks...and was an MIS of 32 PC's using NT4 1997-2000.

I have upgraded to a better Router over the years, gone from 56K to DSL to Cable.

However, I never encountered this problem. So my only conclusion possibly has to do with Norton Security Suite, which I did not have or use before I went with Comcast xFinity....before I ran Norton Internet Security and Norton 360.

I am inclined to believe my Linksys E3000 is configured correctly. And I just encountered another possible issue with the Win7 & Vista PC's having access to one another is Cannot Access Error Code 0x8007005

And I ran Network Diagnostics which states "Your Computer Appears to be correctly configured, but the Device or Resource (DNS Server) is not responding.

So back to the drawing board....thanks for everyone's assistance, Doc
