Win7 fails to boot

Windows is on what's called E in this recovery mode. Correct? Normally the active partition or first primary partition is called C in this recovery mode as far as I know. But D is active is 100MB and labeled "System Reserved". This is definitely the boot partition.

Code:
dir/a d:\boot\bcd
dir/a d:\bootmgr

both found?
You have just a win7 system..... not dual boot with win8, vista or linux?

To delete the bootmenu:
Code:
attrib -h -s -r d:\boot\bcd
del d:\boot\bcd

Now recreate it.
Code:
bootrec /rebuildbcd
It finds your win7 instance and asks if it can add it to the menu. Of course you want that.

Try to boot normally and post results. If system does start succesfully perform a "startup repair" 3 times to be sure the bootmenu is configured correctly

Tip
Sometimes it may take running a startup repair (3) separate times with restarting the computer after each time before it fully fixes the startup issue.

Just a friendly reminder: It is much easier to do this using EasyBCD (click Download - no Name or Email required) which does the work for you.
bootrec/fixfoot gives "element not found". How to run easybcd if system doesn't boot?!

@Greg does bootrec/rebuildbcd rebuild to bcd menu with all stuff inside? So also with f8 enabled and "recovery environment"?

Have you tried EasyRecoveryEssentials which is a beefed-up WinRE, linked in easy recovery essentials free alternitive that can run in LivePE - Windows 7 Help Forums.

The author of EasyBCD Mahmoud is also an active member Computer Guru here and can be asked to consult.

OK I typed attrib -h -s -r d;\boot\bcd and then del dd:\boot\bcd but I nevr got any response.
I then typed bootrec /rebuildbcd and got this response
scanning all discs
Total Windows installations: 1
[1] E:\Windows
Add install to boot list Yes<Y>/No<N>/All<A>: I typed Yes and received the response
element not found. I also tried Y and got the same response.

I did run diskpart
then select vol e
Active and then ran startup repair 3 times
After that I rebooted and got the message - Bootmgr is missing.
I did read and try some of the steps in Troubleshooting Win7 failure to start, before I even came to this forum, and also read quite a few threads about it, which is why I'm now here where I can get some help, thank you for asking though.
