Win7 isn't discovering my bluetooth speaker?

Hi everyone,
I recently had a few issues with bluetooth and chipset drivers after upgrading from vista home premium to win7 ultimate. The drivers installed correctly and I was able to pair with the speaker for a moment, though the sound quality was very bad, quite distorted and low volume (sound quality is generally high-fidelity). After removing the device I have been unable to repair. The headphone jack is also non-functional? Any ideas?

What make and model speakers? What is the distance the bluetooth is being tasked with from computer to speakers? Any other bluetooth devices in close proximity? Any error indicators (yellow asterisk)seen in device manager?

Happy because my bluetooth paired, although once I played audio it was terrible quality, then testing the headphone jack I discovered it wasn't working. Sound is coming from the speakers, but the headphones are silent. They aren't showing up under "manage audio devices" either. The drivers are correctly installed too.

None of the above re bluetooth speaker issues or other devices, no errors.

I would be willing to bet that you have powered speakers? That would lead me to think headphones would have no sound because the output signal voltages are totally different for each device. Similar as to why you can't just connect a record player/turntable to a pair of speakers and expect to have sound.

If you don't want to accept free advice/opinions, I will gladly go back under my rock. I find it much easier to be less irritated by others there.

Hi again, the speaker is a tdk A33 bluetooth unit. The unit is usually within 7 feet of the computer with no other bluetooth devices in close proximity.There are also no error indicators in the device manager. The unit will pair once turned on and begin to install the drivers successfully. Once installed the sound is very muffled. Although twice today I have turned it on, the drivers have installed and it has sounded perfect. Upon turning the device on and off again the sound returns to a low quality. Reinstalling the device drivers has also prove unsuccessful in correcting the sound. Sometimes it sounds good, most of the time it doesn't.

Ok, I think I've fixed the issue. Windows 7 installed the device driver every time I turned it on. I deleted the device drivers, restarted and then reinstalled them. They were working perfectly, so I followed Method 2 of this tutorial https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2500967 and the drivers are no longer reinstalling, plus I'm left with perfect sound and the unit seems to be responding better than before. Thanks for all the help!
