Hi All,

I have just completed installing Windows 7 on my Mac via bootcamp and the sound isnt working. I don't have any errors in the device manager, and I've ran every update through Windows update.

I'm out of ideas?

This is a fresh install of Windows 7, and it is not activated yet - I'm doing the 30 day trial. I've only installed Office, Itunes, firefox and Adobe Reader.

Help!

Which Mac?

When you open device manager... do you have a listing for Sound, video & game controllers"?

In the system tray, (small icons at the right side of the taskbar) do you have the small speaker icon the open the system volume/mixer?

It turns out I needed to insert the MAC oc disk on the windows side to finish the installation - the mac disk had some drivers it needed to install through bootcamp and everything works as it should.

Thank you,

Steve

Right, Apple has Windows driver files for all of the hardware on the Mac, (which is pretty much PC hardware). I didn't know they had Win-7 driver files at this time but as long as it working...

If you do run into any problems other Mac users running Win-7 have used the latest drivers off the manufacturers site.

You can find out what hardware the Mac is using by going into Device Manager or using "System Information".
