Hello,
I recently bought a computer with Win7. I live in an area where dial up is my only option (for now), so I also purchased a USB modem. I used Win7 to set up the dial up account using the phone number I was issued before.

Previously I had been running Win98SE with my dial up. POP3 account using ports 110 and 25 (typical setup). Win7 wants to assign port 143 and says my connection is unsecure.

So how do I manually change the port setting instead of using an obviously failed wizard?

Any takers? Thanks.

I generally go through the wizzard as quickly as possible. Then I go into the account properties for each email account and carefully set up each tab so it agrees with the email service provider's information. Pay special attention to the "servers" and "advanced" tabs since you won't connect to the server unless they are correct. Also, the check box on the "general" tab is important depending on when you want to download your mail.
