It was working fine for months. I shutdown the computer to disconnect the SSD to reconnect an old HDD to pull files from, and transfer to my other HDD connected in raid0. When I went back to connected the SSD and booting it, my win7 OS was gone?!... along with all my files. I cant boot, and when I tried to load the SSD from my Linux on the raid0 HDD, its not showing any of my files...

What should I do?... I dont have the CD for win7, as it was added onto the SSD from a friend... I did however make a backup CD. but... cant backup, if i dont have the OS in the first place.

HI,

What happens when you try and boot from the SSD.
Does it say " Please select proper boot Device " ?

When you say "I dont have the CD for Windows 7, as it was added onto the SSD from a friend". What licence key do you have?

The first lesson is to always have a Windows DVD handy, especially when making system changes like this. Do you know if you have a legitimate license? If so, you can download the DVD that corresponds.

@braddersz when I try to boot from the SSD, it cant find the OS. I tried to load the files from the SSD by opening the SSD from a linux box. still couldnt find my files/OS.

@Deaconfrost im pretty sure the license is legit. I installed everything, with the proper disks... i just didnt keep the disks like a dumbass. =/

If you're not sure that you own a $100+ Win7 license which didn't come preinstalled on the PC, then you likely have an illegal bootleg. We can help you determine that with certainty to avoid criminality.

For now run Partition Wizard Partition Recovery Wizard - Video Help.

After it recovers the lost Win7 and any other data partitions on SSD, run the Genuine Diagnostics tool (MGADiag.exe) at this link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012. Click "Continue", click the "Copy" button then “Paste” the report into a reply message in this thread.
