Win7 Recovery Environment

Hello, can anybody knows how to get into recovery environment upon booting up .I'm facing a boot mbr problem when installing a new os on a hd on a removable hdisk drawer. i were told to write new boot procedure at recovery console prompt but i do not know how to get into recovery environment on bootup. can anyone help. thks

Thank you, Hv try the method posted on the web but cannot solved my problem . will try reinstall the os without using the removable desktop drawer. The removable drawer is for u to change hdisk containing different os.

Try rebooting and tap F8 key repeatedly to see if Repair console is listed on Advanced Tools menu, to repair your installation. If not, you can access the Repair console on the second screen after booting the installer.

Make sure Win7 100MB SysReserved partition or Win7 partition itself are marked Active then run Startup Repair repeatedly until it starts: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105541-startup-repair-run-3-separate-times.html

It's not clear to me what you are trying to do
Fix your existing OS?
Install a 2nd OS on a 2nd HDD? If so what OS?

I still don't know what is a "removable desktop drawer". Is it a Sata docking station?

Thanks everybody for the reply. It will save me a lot of time spending to install the win 7 os fresh . I had removed the hdisk from the removable drawer and connect it directly to the mboard sata socket and install the os and everythings runs fine. I m using Linux on one hdisk and win7 on the next. The removable drawer contain the hd of certain os so as to allow me to plug into the system w/out removing the hdisk. Will try again on the procedure given by you guys. It's a good info esp given to a beginner on win7 os. Thks anyway.

The best way to multi-boot Linux distros with Win7 is to keep them on separate HD's and boot via the BIOS, not using GRUB or Windows -managed Dual Boot at all.

To achieve this, unplug the other OS when you install. Then after install plug it back in, boot the preferred HD by setting it to boot first in BIOS setup, or boot the other HD using one-time BIOS Boot Menu key given on first boot screen.
