I have become the go-to guy for all my father-in-law's buddies in FL (I'm in VA). I am constantly on the phone trying to talk 80-something neophites through simple fixes - I have a new respect for Help Desk techs.

I want to be able to connect remotely to their computers and do the fixes my self - most of the things I could do in 3 minutes, but takes me 50 minutes (and still no joy) because I can't see their screen and they don't know what I'm saying.

What is the best method of connecting (using RDC?)? And where can I get the informaiton to put together VERY (very, very) simple instructions so they can set up their desktops for me to access.

Their OS's range from Vista to Win 7 Ultimate.

The best option for this would be Team Viewer.

It's designed for things like this.
