Win7 SP1 Question

Hey Guys and Gals,

On the MS download center website there is a file titled:
7601.17514.101119-1850_Update_Sp_Wave1-GRMSP1.1_DVD.iso

What is on this image? Is this a complete Win7 w/ SP1 installer iso?

That iso contains the 32 bit AND 64 bit installers for SP1. Only SP1, mind you, theres no win7 there- in other words its not an integrated iso.

It is the SP1 only with multi language options..That`s all..

Question #2: is this the 64bit SP1 .exe that would be used to slipstream into a bootable .iso (i.e Brink's tutorial)?

Yes, if you want the 64 bit exe for any purpose, this would be the one. You can also download the standalone 64 bit exe instead of the whole iso.

You may have already noticed this one from the same download page:

This may be the .exe file that you want (64 bit)

There should be no files corrupted when you install the service pack,
and which kind of files corrupted?System files?

For programs,if the program is not fully compatible to Windows 7,
there is a potential that the program cannot run correctly in the SP1,
you might try to run the program with the compatible mode,
and run it in Win XP,it might solve your problem.

Had to update iTunes to 10.2 after SP1. Previous version locked up my ipod and it was not recognized.

That probably why my tunes wasn't playing the music files, that helps alot cause I have a number of programs that have failed to initiate before sp1 so as stated by the gentlemen above I will try compatibility mode and see if that clears up the issue's. So 10.2 after sp1 should do the trick pbcopter. I'm just gonna do a clean install of W7 without the sp1 being slipped streamed by rt cause I think that programs causes problems as well and install with a fresh retail copy and then have my downloaded version of sp1 ready to install diretly after that. I feel that is a better way of doing cause when it's slipped streamed you can't go back and uninstall it...
