Win7 won't boot

So, I finally got my other problems fixed and got Win7 installed. Installed onto a 80gb hd, no partitions, to the unallocated space (just going to use the whole drive for my OS). It finished the installation, and went into windows. Then I installed a couple of drivers and attempted to reboot.

After my computer POSTs, it gets to the point where windows should start loading but it just doesnt work.

So i put my win7 cd back in, get into setup from the cd and look at my partitions. The drive I installed to is listed as a Primary partition instead of a System partition, so I'm guessing thats the problem. But why did it format it as primary instead of system, or does anyone even know if this is my problem?

Any help or answers would be appreciated.

If you installed on unallocated space, then the small System Reserved partition would be the system partition, and the partition with Windows installed on it would be the boot partition.

Did you by any chance delete this 100 MB System Reserved partition?

@Teerex: it apparently didnt create the 100mb partition like i thought it was supposed to. Or least I don't see it.

@myzr/Doc Brown: Thanks, i called myself looking through those yesterday. Guess I didnt quite look good enough. Pretty easy fix! Booted into win7 again already. Thanks for the quick replies and information!

Sure myzr7: I had to put my Win7 DVD back in, boot to the DVD Setup, go into command prompt, and run bootsect to give the drive a master boot record..after that everything seems good to go.
