my Acer aspire 4750G uses windows 7 64 bit

it boots and get stuck in the log in screen.. I have no password but I have two users, so I have to click on which to log into.. the cursor is moving , but when I click on the User, nothing happens.. the cursor is still moving, but there is no indication that the computer is reading.. that round moving icon that you see is not there..

is there a way to fix this without reformatting? I dont know much about computer troubleshooting and repair

coolbrandy,
Here's the quick way to boot up in safe mode:

BOOT TO SAFE MODE
Ø Power down your computer.
Ø Power up your computer.
Ø IMMEDIATELY—Start tapping the SPACEBAR
Ø When the Windows Boot Manager screen appears,
Press the F8 key
Ø The Advanced Boot Options screen will appear.
Ø Using the down arrow key, highlight Safe Mode
Ø Press the ENTER key.

In shorthand,
PowerUp | Spacebar until Windows Boot Manager
| F8 | Safe Mode | ENTER

Also have an Asus ha1002xp netbook with Win 7 Ultimate installed.
In Safe mode or from the System Recovery Options try enabling hidden Administrator account to Log into: Built-in Administrator Account - Enable or Disable - Windows 7 Forums
Built-in Administrator - Enable from WinRE - Windows 7 Forums

From Admin account back up User folders, try booting into either User account to run a Repair Install or run it from Admin.

Try creating a new User Account to see if it will boot normally. If so, hide Admin account again.

If this is the original Acer factory preinstall then you are running a corrupt install to begin with and should strongly consider moving directly to a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7. A step is included to rescue your data.
