Hi There,

Problem: Win7 x64 Ultimate SP 1, I have 16GB of ram, but "only 7.90 usable".

Of course I have already googled the problem, but running 'msconfig' and making sure to uncheck maximum memory and setting to zero got me nowhere, also checking it and setting it to 16384 wasn't the solution.

Also tried a similar tutorial in cmd.

I entered BIOS where it seems to be recognized (2x 8192 displayed).
Edit: Memory Remapping is enabled in BIOS

I ran out of ideas, any help, suggestion would be appreciated.

Specs.:

Asus M5A97 EVO
2x8GB DDR3 Kingston HyperX BluKit
Asus Radeon RX550 4GB -- Additional Note: It was changed recently since my prev VGA (HD7970 Ghz
Vapor X) died, never experienced the problem with the 7970.

What other hardware might be important? Also I can make some screens if that makes the troubleshooting easier.

hey George,

Thanks for your fast reply.

I must apologize, I was very desperate to solve my problem.

The thing is I double checked the BIOS, and only got less than 8GB. So opened it up, pushed both of my modules gently into the MOBO, started it, and voilá, I got my 16GB back.

So sorry again, I guess I 'll mark it as solved.
