I've been playing with Win7 since the first leaked versions hit the web and I have to say that I completely impressed with RC1 on my Acer 10.1" as well as on my Dell Studio 17 and home-grown Intel i7 920 - based monster!

I have tried all the stripped down versions as well as full versions and I'll be sticking with the full install of RC1 until the next RC comes about!

My 10.1" Aspire One was at one point upgraded to 2GB and a 320GB 7200RPM drive with 16MB cache, but it's now back at 1GB with a 250MB 5400rpm 8mb cache setup (I needed the larger/faster drive and RAM for my Dell).

Running RC1 has proven to be a very smooth experience though - no hiccups - no slowdowns - very impressed with it's performance over Vista! Vista was a SNAIL.

Notice the nice smooth CPU (green line on the CPU usage gadget on the right) - in Vista even with no apps running at was all over the board - up/down/up/down - looked like a medical EKG!

Here's a few screenshots showing my setup and Windows Experience scores. Please - share yours as well!

Not sure if the install even takes into account whether or not it's a Netbook. I could run Aero in Vista as well as long as I installed the correct video driver.

Video is actually smooth though. No studdering or otherwise, in fact, I'd say it's pretty much on par with the Radeon HD in my Dell!

Video PLAYBACK - now that's a different story! I have to shut down all unneeded apps if I want to watch a video fullscreen.

First thing I did on my netbook(asus 1000he) was to toss seven on there. I am pleasantly surprised with it's perfomance. Flash is the only thing that really bogs the system down for some reason.

It came with XP sp3, I only used it for one boot, about two mins, just to make sure everything was in working order. So I'm not sure how XP performed on it, but from all accounts it's smooth as well.

Guess I'm lucky that I have a Windows Mobile cell instead of BB :-) I installed Windows Mobile Device Center without a hitch!

Good hard drive score for a 5400rpm 8mb cache setup.

Let me look up the specs on the drive - I could be wrong! It's a WDC WD2500BEVS-75UST0... Yep - it's a 5400RPM 8MB Cache... Was the drive that originally came with my Dell Studio 17. WD Scorpio Blue 250 GB SATA Hard Drives ( WD2500BEVS )

Oddly enough, a 320MB 16MB Cache 7200RPM drive that I dropped into the Dell only gets a 5.9 score.

BTW, what's the highest score you can get in any area of the WEI?

5.9 for vista and 7.9 for windows 7 is the limit.
