Win_7 64-Bit: disappointment???

Hello there!

From what i read over the web the vast majority of problems are encountered on windows 7 64-bit platforms... Why is that?

I personally have faced all kind of issues: BSOD, hangs, freezes, reboots, no boot-ups!!!

Currently i am at the third (clean) installation of windows which was done with the following setup: SATA configuration=RAID, JMicron=AHCI and Memory Remap enabled.
It was also done with only 1 out of 4 RAM DIMMS installed (in total 8 Gb) since i found errors in 2 of them (Memtest-boot_CD) and decided to keep only one for the installation. However, when i thought it went nice i again got an automatic reboot.

Since then i've been getting freezes every single time i am in windows. And also one BSOD showing "page_ fault_in_nonpage_area" when the pc was totally idle. I am running XMP#1 Profile that sets factory settings for my remaining error-free 2 RAM modules (12&18 hours with no errors in Memtest).

From the very first installation i thought there was sth wrong with the memory remap feature since it seemed that with that disabled the system was doing better.
Not any more... Just had another freeze with memory remap disabled while downloading updates via windows update (just got internet today!!!!).

Right now i am running HDD Diagnostics from Seagate and am therefore not in position to "attach" any minidumps. But i will do soon.

Please attach the minidumps as soon as you are able.
Also, please attach this report:

MSINFO32:
Please go to Start and type in "msinfo32.exe" (without the quotes) and press Enter
Save the report as an .nfo file, then zip up the .nfo file and upload/attach the .zip file with your next post.

If you're having difficulties with the format, please open an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt and type "msinfo32 /nfo C:\Users\Public\Desktop\TEST.NFO" (without the quotes) and press Enter. Then navigate to the C:\Users\Public\Desktop directory to retrieve the TEST.NFO file. If you have difficulties with making this work, please post back.

Oh! and HEEEELP...

I know your pain. Between Usamsa and I we see quite a few DMPs. I soeak only for myself. I have found win 7 doesnt like RAIDS, nor overclocking, in 64 bit. Yoou should make sure your RAID driver is current.

OK.

These are the minidumps from my latest (3rd) installation of Win 7 x64.

Since the last BSOD (couple of days back) i have only been getting total freezes...

At the moment i switched to stock settings for my RAM and managed to stay stable so far and install updates for windows (windows updates).

Now i probably will install drivers (VGA, Monitor, Chipset, JMicron etc.).

@zigzag3143 : How do i find (& update) RAID driver ???

So, for the drivers

i installed:
-Intel Chipset
-Realtek LAN
-Intel Matrix Storage Manager
-JMicron Controller 36x
-VIA HD Audio
-ATI Radeon HD5800 series
-LG LCD Monitor

Everything went smooth. -unexpectedly-
But i keep running on Auto (BIOS) RAM settings: 1333 MHz
I am afraid to set them on factory 1600 MHz, 1.65V either manually or XMP Profile because i am positive i will be getting BSODs and freezes again.
And i am not sure if i have already updated the RAID driver -Intel Matrix-????

Did anyone have time to check out my minidumps and/or system report?

Your RAID is either the Intel Matrix STORAGE Manager or the JMicron Controller 36x

This driver isn't installed (and is important):

This is the Asus ATK0110 ACPI Utility and is available from the Asus website (http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx). If you can't locate it, the PCProbe and the AISuite utilities contain this driver also.

As for diagnostics. I have already scanned with seagate tools (from boot) and showed no errors.
Memtest86 v.4 ran for 12 and 18 hrs on my two RAM DIMMS (currently installed and working) with no errors. The other two DIMMS showed up errors right from the start therefore i removed them.

I am thinking i will request RMA. What do you say?

System seems stable so far, but RAM is at 1333MHz. It's the BIOS's default (Auto) and haven't tried yet to raise it fearing of BSODs and freezes again.

Any ideas ???

Wait for another BSOD. If it happens, let us analyze it. Then RMA if necessary.
If you're running out of time on the RMA - go ahead and do it.
