Hi there

While I generally LIKE winamp - this is a classic example of how NOT to provide upgrades- and I'm surprised since somebody with the backing of AOL should IMO know better -- we aren't talking about a single developer "under the railway arches" here.

When you upgrade it will fail with two files - won't let you delete them.

You also can't actually delete these easily from W7 either - even with the Take ownership facility-- I had to delete these by using another machine on the LAN.

Now I LIKE Winamp (OK there are other applications) but ripping to FLAC and having the Gracenote CDDB facility to create tags automatically for track / artist labelling are worth it for me.

So c'mon winamp developers -- you've got a decent product - but DO try fixing the upgrade so it doesn't "lock" files.

Cheers
jimbo

I've been using Winamp for years, however, I haven't got around to installing it since I installed Win 7. I'll have to do that.

But, with the poor software track record of AOL it's not surprising that there are problems. The AOL software for dial-up connections was always buggy.
