Hello Gautamster, and welcome to Seven Forums.

It will only format whatever partition/drive that you selected to install Windows 7 to. Anything unselected will be fine. :)

I was trying to install window 7 32 bit. But It hangs after completing installation. So i used the device manager method. But here for me at C drive, during the installation in boot layout, new option is not working and there is also already an unallocated drive exists.

Gautamster,

"New" is only available if it's a "unallocated space" that is selected. It's used to create a new partition from the "unallocated space".

If you wanted to use it on C: , then the Disk # that C is on would have to be deleted until it is "unallocated space". Afterwards, you should be able to follow the tutorial as is for that Disk #. :)

I have not tried dual boot. But Let me tell you my problem again.
I tried Device manager installation, it didn't worked for me. When I install window 7 it just install fine but after completing installation it checks video performance and all. And after the final restart it does not show any desktop. After all installation, stucks on black screen, I don't know why it is not working. I changed my cd rom once from ata to sata one and graphic card is removed.

Install your graphics card, when it re-boots it should load a default driver, be sure your internet is connected.

If it still doesn't work, give us some system specs, OEM or custom, how many HDDs are currently connected, how much RAM - total and number of cards, motherboard, etc.
Maybe we can find a solution.

Can you post your system specs, we need to know what your computer is.

Generally, continuous beeps mean memory or graphics card error.

Did you install your graphics card and re-boot?

Guatamster,

Are you able to just install Windows 7 to dual boot with XP using OPTION ONE in the tutorial below?

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/8057-dual-boot-installation-windows-7-xp.html

I have not tried dual boot. But Let me tell you my problem again.

Guatamster,

Please try the method above to see how that works for you instead, and let us know how it went. :)

Are you using the onboard graphics chip now with the failed video card removed? Look in BIOS setup to make sure your current display device is enabled correctly, and not outputted to any TV card or other output than VGA monitor.

Test your RAM for 5-6 passes or overnight: RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Unplug all other HD's and peripherals, boot the Win7 DVD to wipe the HD with Diskpart Clean Command using DISKPART At PC Startup.

Clean Install Windows 7. If it hangs again then follow these steps to enter Device Manager during install to Uninstall any drivers showing in error - especially Display driver - to see if Install will complete so you can update driver from desktop: Device Manager - Access During Windows 7 Installation

You referred repeatedly to Win7 installing via Device Manager. What do you mean?

What do you find when you enter Device Manager during install? Which devices are in error? Are you uninstalling them to allow install to complete? Please explain fully.

Could be a setting in BIOS that was changed when OP installed then uninstalled video card. Those need to be gone over carefully. Sounds like it could be outputting wrongly, e.g. to a TV tuner or projector. Is the onboard graphics chip fully enabled and what are its settings?

Is it possible you damaged the mobo during video card install/uninstall?

Is the idea to install XP to see if it replicates the display issue?

I had a graphic card on my motherboard But after sometime graphic card got defective and after that i ran my pc without graphic card, after some days when i tried to install window 7, after completing installation window stucks on black screen and on restart pc gives continuous beeps.
