I am having an issue with my system time. After reboot it reverts back a few hours. During the day it will also stop and freeze on a curtain time. If I install a third party time sync program it works ok. I have checked the Internet time server and it is turned on. I also set the net time server to automatic instead of manual. Please help!!!!

Check your Location Settings. It's probably set to the wrong location. Like you are on the East Coast and it is set to Pacific Time Zone.

EDIT:

That would be Date and Time Settings.

Sounds like it is time for a new cmos battery.

Since your specs. are not filled out completely,
its hard to give further advice !

Desktop or Laptop ?

I have a problem in my laptop, time is not updating properly. It increase time but suddenly goes down. Its like "suppose when I open my pc it show a time but after one hour it should be one hour update but few minutes it will forward then suddenly it comes back to same state as I opened. So what can be helpful step to make it work properly? Because of this I can not use skype messaging because time not updating so message goes top like if I message some on 1:30 then again next minute should be 1:31 but my pc time goes down to 1:00 and my message goes top of my previous message but it should be down of previous message according to proper time. its happening because my pc time goes down again and again after every few minutes.

I would suggest replacing the CMOS battery. Read the User's Manual for instructions on replacement.

Both of you check your systems for a Virus and or Malware.

There is nothing in the OS that would cause either of your problems.

If either one of these people would fill in their specs. for the machine they are having the problem with, it would be a lot more help to someone trying to guide them than it would them.

The blind can't help the blind !

Try the following;

1. From the "Start" orb (bottom left corner of the screen) type "cmd" (without the quotes) in the caption box
2. Choose "cmd.exe" from the list
3. In the DOS window type "Time" (without the quotes)

Does the display match the Windows time clock?
