Hi there, I have recently purchased a Dell XPS 15z. It is great, but there's one problem. when I am typing the window goes slightly transparent and the words that I am typing don't show up. It doesn't always happen but today it has been happening every few seconds, that makes typing this post very difficult
If someone could help, that would be great :)

I don't quite understand what you mean, but I have an idea, is this what you meant?

Example.png

See Image above, by transparent - you mean the top part of this image, and by normal you mean the bottom half (I am using a Custom theme, so it will look slightly different).

Yes, that's exactly what I mean.

If I was you I would run a Malwarebytes Scan, and check for Malware.

Please try to include your Malwarebytes log files too.

The next thing you could do is run an SFC Scan

Could you also post a Screenshot of your Task Manager & your Startup Tab in msconfig.

Does it only do this when your typing, or anytime randomly on any window?

It usually does it when I'm typing, however I'm starting to think it's when I'm not using my mouse.

MsConfig looks like a lot is going on. Please Download CCleaner and click Tools, then Select Startup. At the Bottom RIght, click Save to text file. Then share the .txt file here.

Please also upload the bottom part of Task Manager.

Try Disabling all of those using CCleaner, but DO NOT Delete them, you may need them back later on.

Restart your Computer and see if the problem persists.

Let the SFC Scan and the full Malwarebytes Scan continue.

If the steps above don't help, try running a HiJackThis Full Scan, and then a SpyBot Search and Destroy Scan. Then try installing MSE and running that too.

I'm glad I have came in help and you have found a solution :). I would try Enabling and Disabling each one after a Restart until you find the cause of the problem and uninstall it.

I would still run a SFC ScanNow and a MBAM Scan though just incase.

Same problem

Hi jacin,
I'm experiencing the same problem on my XPS 15z. the only thing I can imagine is that it's started probably after updating the trackpad drivers.

could you find which process was causing the troubles?

Did you try all of the steps I posted above?

yes I did.
I blocked all the start process with CCleaner and the problem disappeared.

before starting restarting them I was wondering if Jacin could understand which of the running process was causing that.

Try manually enabling and disabling each one after a restart if you have the time.

Show a list of CCleaner startup processes please.

I used sysinternals procexp64 and noticed that the Cypress Semiconductor touchpad that comes with the XPS notebooks has a little hidden window program.

I uninstalled the Cypress drivers (as I don't need the cool features that it brings) and so far, the problem mentioned has disappeared.
