window live mail problem

The update KB252039 did it to mine also. I had to restore from a prior to the update install to get rid of it. A friend of mine had this problem also.

Assumming you installed snagit on purpose as a screen capture utility, it is not clear to me it's a virus causing the problem. (BTW, the "snipping tool" is built into Windows 7/Vista.) Try a repair of Windows Live Essentials via Programs and Features. It will repair all installed components of Essentials, including Mail.
