Just going to go ahead and ask...I've had this asus laptop new year ago with W10, as well as this HP 6970 series. Recently it had a document locked up in spooler, and couldn't get rid of it, or didn't know how. Uninstalled the HP software, and went to reinstall basic HP drivers for this printer. I wanted to have it wireless again. Going all the way through the procedures it comes up to this damn deal regarding buying ink, or using a keycode off of an ink box which is long gone. There is no way to bypass this step. If you X out of it, the installation isn't complete. Driving me crazy. So currently it is set up using usb cable. What is the deal with this? Anyone?? Thx, DM

HP allows you to set up a network (wireless) printer via a USB cable, in those cases when the the HP software can't find the printer. You then remove the USB cable and have a network printer.

Try an older or newer version of the HP software if what you have doesn't work.
