You have to have all the windows 10 updates installed on Windows 7 SP1, then you will get the stupid Windows 10 Icon.
Or you can do it another way.

You have to have all the windows 10 updates installed on Windows 7 SP1
So you have to install Windows 10 updates to get the toolbar icon to install Windows 10.

I thought there was a tutorial for this but i can't find it now.
I did the free upgrade using the Media Creation Tool explained here:

This worked for me.
I didn't want Windows to upgrade my OS when it wanted to, so i did it this way so i could have some control.
You should make sure you have everything backed up before upgrading, and check that your hardware is compatible with Win 10.
Some PC's don't have W10 compatible drivers, and that can be a show stopper.
