Windows 10 Update sneaking in

I was cleaning up my sisters laptop for slow performance. Everything is good now except for when I was checking her Windows Update to see if any were needed. When I opened widows update I saw this (attached). It appears that if a restart occurs or maybe even a shutdown and boot will install Windows 10. She is not ready for Windows 10, therefor I do not want windows 10 to install. I have not had much exposure to this update. What should I do to prevent 10 from install?

I'm not an expert on Windows update but, one thing you could try is Click on Change Settings in the Windows Update and change the settings like I have in the image below, the second highlighted one in red uncheck, then go back and Click on Check for Updates again and see what happens, you may get a list and you can uncheck the one for Windows 10.

I have already done that. The thing is I did not reserve 10. This just showed up. I have been googling this and there are tons of people extremely upset about this and i am one of them. If i have no other choice but to install 10 and then revert back to 7 and if like most that have, i know I will have issues. I know everyone has their faults but this one from Microsoft is unacceptable.

I only had 2 to choose from and apparently they were after rather than before. I tried the oldest and I still have the problem.

After talking with my sister I found that she actually reserved 10 some time ago. That is why we are where we are. I have tried what pertains from the links you gave me and still no go. I think at this time I am going to follow through with 10. I spoke to a friend that did it and he said that my sister would be able to navigate OK. She only uses browser, word, and downloads pictures. Thanks for all your efforts in trying to help.

Create a System Image Backup before you do the upgrade.
I prefer Macrium Reflect free for system imaging.

Was she using your user account ? = that's a big NO-NO

1 administrator per machine
Uncheck let All users install updates from Bongo's image and Be the only admin account

Actually its my sisters laptop, not mine. She reserved it prior to me telling her not to install 10. Anyway, I contacted Microsoft because it would not update to 10 and in Windows updates its locked with the image from post #1. They said her laptop was not compatible with 10 even though their utility said it was. I have attached an article I found about compatibility that y'all may find very interesting.
