WIndows 7 64-bit BSOD - help needed

Hi,

I have been struggeling with WIndows 7 crashing now and again for almost 6 months, and I am at my wits end - simply cannot find any more things to test.
I have tested the memory (memtest), the harddrives, upgraded all drivers to latest version - but to no avail - windows still crashes randomly - and apparently the things causing it is also random (ref the blue screen information). Have attached the lastes 10 minidumps, and hope somebody can help me.

Looks like an issue with your EHCI eUSB Miniport Driver. See if you can update this driver or check your USB devices and the connectivity to your motherboard. See if that helps.

Looks like I replied too soon after only looking at one dmp file. Sorry for that.

Have you tried updating your BIOS? If so, I wonder if you have a defective motherboard possibly.

well your getting quite a variety of errors in your minidumps and at this point I can't see any common subsystem, the only common thing are these old drivers which definitely need removing or replacing

3xHybr64.sys is possibly a BDA TV Capture Driver ?
PxHlpa64.sys possibly belongs to the software PxHelp or PxHlpa by Sonic Solutions ?

Have updated following

ASACPI.sys - updated to latest
pcouffin.sys Removed
wacommousefilter.sys - this is the latest driver available
3xHybr64.sys - updated to latest driver
PxHlpa64.sys These are showing under the dvd drives in the device manager - can't seem to find whatever program installed them (other than windows) - tried to remove - but windows keeps installing them again.

And unfortunately am still having BSODs - have attached the latest two.

ok last two dumps are showing as hardware with no reference to a driver but if this is the mouse wacommousefilter.sys I would try using a different one for a short while for the purposes of elimination

I know you've run memtest but I don't believe it's quite aggressive enough so could you burn to CD (using an ISO burner) & run from boot memtest86+ for at least 5 passes, also try running different sticks in different slots and if you get no errors try running your system with only one stick of ram for a while ?

can you also run windows upgrade advisor in order to see if there's any hardware that might be a problem in the windows 7 environment ?

I will try and disable my wacom tablet for awhile - to see if this helps.

It was actually memtest86+ that I had been running, but will try your suggestions with only on ram block to see if it helps.

The strange thing though, is that I do not get BSODs in Vista on the same machine....

Well, am certainly not improving. Experienced 6 BSODs with relative short timespan this evening (attached). Wondered about the last one saying it was NTFS.SYS - and error was "attempting to write to read only memory"??

Its still hardware. Given the various sources I suspect memory.

I would
download memtestx86 and rub for 5 passes
run a system file check
(rype cmd in seearch>right click and run as admin>sfc /scannow)

and if you are overclocking stop

Ok, here's what I've done.
Figured that a new version of memtest86+ was available, compared to the one I used before.
I ran a memtest86+ (version 4.00) overnight = 20 passes. After 8 it found 5 errors.
I replaced the ram with some new ram - and ran the test again (9 passes) - no errors found.
Booted up the computer, and after aprox 45 minutes experienced my first BSOD - dump included.
any ideas?

Henrik,

Did you originally install all of the Asus utilities that came with your motherboard? If so, have you since removed all of these and installed the latest versions? Also, if you haven't done this already, try turning off sleep and hibernate from your power plan.

No, didn't install the asus utilities.

Just had a few more BSODs, attaching the dumps.

Seems to be different .sys files this time - am at a loss....

To check to see if your hardware is advised as compatible please run Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor and let us know the results ?

can you tell us what make and model of ram have you fitted and is it on the motherboard manufacturers compatible list ?

Yes, everything comes up as compatible in the win 7 upgrade advisor.

I'm using Kingston RAM - KVR800D2N5K2/4G - and yes, they are on the manufactures compatability list.

I am using microsoft firewall and microsoft security essentials as antivirus.

Have on the asus site just located a thread where a user had similar issues to me, and it was suggested to raise the power on the Northbridge to 1,4 v in the bios.
I have done so, and has sofar not had any BSODs - even doing the tasks that normally causes them....
Am crossing my fingers, and will continue testing over the weekend.

that could definately be a cure as the northbridge handles the ram use

let's hope this solves it, please keep us updated ?

It seems to be the solution. Have been running my pc 12 hours saturday, and 10 hours sunday - and not a single BSOD - brilliant.
