Windows 7 64-Bit Space Requirements

Hi, im going to install Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit on my computer, how much space do i need to alocate to the 64 Bit partition? I only want enough to install it and run smoothly, i have my games on a storage partition

You'd really be seriously squeezing things with 20 GB. That's about what a base install will occupy, but it leaves you no room for future growth as will happen--from Windows Updates or any installed applications.

And drive performance can be affected if a partition is nearly full.

You can get away with 30 or less, but you'll have to really stay on top of it, cleaning and deleting as much unnecessary stuff as possible. Maybe reduce your page file size or turn off hibernation. I rarely hear of anyone with a C of less than 60. Mine is 80 and I'm currently using 33 of that for Windows and applications, no games.

totally agree, but if op just wanted enough space to install it then these would be minimum
