hi
i consider to move to Windows 7 64bit and i have some question.
1. is it work faster then Windows 7 32bit ?
2. is Oracle 11g , Visual-studio will work on him ?
3. am i need special hardware ? (i have laptop Dell Latitude D520)
thank's in advance
1) That is actually relative. I will say that if you are going to use more than 4 gigs of RAM and you are a heavy program user, it will seem a little faster as it will have more memory available and less virtual memory swapping, otherwise, no, there would not be much of a difference. And when I say a heavy program user, you are consistently have a lot of programs open, namely Microsoft and Adobe programs are notorious for using a lot of memory, therefore, your experience with programs will seem to be 'faster' as you have more memory (IE Comparing when you are stuck with 4 gigs versus say 8 or more), as the OS is less likely to try and juggle the programs between physical and virtual ram in an x64 environment with more ram than in an x32 environment with 3-3.5 gigs available.
2) Technically, those should function.
3) As long as your system meets the minimum system requirements for the OS, in this case, a 64 bit capable processor, which the D520 should be with a Core 2 Duo Processor, and 2 gigs of RAM and about 20 gigs of disk space and a Direct X 9 capable Video Chipset. Noted from here:
Windows 7 system requirements - Microsoft Windows
For optimal experience, the Laptop should have at least a Direct X 10 capable video chipset, 3+ gigs of RAM and 40 gigs of disk space.
