Windows 7- after upgrade, blank screen

you would think between mainstream brands such as Microsoft, ATI/AMD and Acer an official fix would come quite quickly, due to the level of customer complaint. Well I would have thought so anyhow......or am I being silly?

Aye. I'm waiting - just hoping it won't be too long. Getting tired of not being able to play me games like I could on Vista.

Genius !!

That worked. Thanks Arran

I don't suppose you have a 2nd display hooked up do you?

I just did my first install of 7 and couldn't work out why when it booted I'd come to a blank screen... Turned my second display on and there it was...

For some reason it had prioritised the other screen... You can change it in the display settings...

omfg thank you soo much

I just upgraded my system from a C2D to a sweet Core i5-750 with an ASUS P7P55D-E and 4GB Corsair 1600 MHz DDR3 RAM with a 4870 1GB graphics card

needed to do a clean install of windows 7 pro 64-bit once it got past the first stage and rebooted it just hung on a blank screen. Rebooted, same thing. Reinstalled windows, same thing. Read my whole manual, contemplated bad components, tho memtest passed 3 passes fine. Finally came across this thread and BAM just started hitting enter and tab and random letters, HD started working and I knew it was actually waiting for commands! Finally it loaded to the desktop n immediately needed to reboot from important updates

thank you god, my system is now running good as sick as it should be!

Thank you, had to join just to say this worked!
