Okay, so about 2 weeks ago I removed vista from my laptop and installed windows 7. I go to boot up my laptop earlier today and I get nothing.

I am hearing a faint beeping noise coming from the laptop charger which means it has failed from overheating. I have had vista on this machine for a couple of years now, and after 2 weeks of windows 7 it dies?

Has anyone else had this issue? Does anyone else know if windows 7 pulls more power? Or is this just a coincidence? I know not to use the cable anymore until I get the new one.

thanks in advance

Just a coincidence I say. Windows 7 draws no more power then Windows Vista. Regardless of what you put on the computer, the same amount of power is going to be drawn by the power supply. It is possible the supply just finally meet the end of its useful life.
