Trying to back up full system on cd-r's on my new Toshiba Satellite A505 laptop. I have shutdown any program I can and have nothing running while doing this and yet I still keep getting this error 0x800703ee. I have looked at other forums but its all vista related nothing with windows 7 or a Toshiba Satellite A500 series laptop same problem. Any help would be appreciated thank you.

Do you really mean CD-Rs? Or DVDs?

Do you have the same result when backing up to a hard drive?

Are you referring to "imaging" or just "backing up"?

These forums have seen quite a few complaints, particularly with DVDs.

Hi and welome SV

You are dedicated I will give you that. Isnt there any other wya you can back that up besides to CD? On my system that would be like 50-60 Cd's and take days

To the problem that error code is generated when the index for the open files are no longer valid. it means the computer forgets what files are next. there is info and possible fixes here 0x800703EE

I suspect you dont have a lot of ram and that may be adding to the problem. No other way to backup?

True I have around 30gigs already used up so that means it would take forever with just cd-rs.

I have 4 gb of ram should be fine.

I guess I would need to buy a external HD with 30 or more gb on it?
