I'm an Access 2007 developer, and recently a .bat file that we have used for years is giving us trouble, but only for Windows 7 users.

The .bat file is:

MKDIR C:\Database
COPY \\serverURL\databaseName.accdb C:\Database\databaseName.accdb
START "MSAccess.exe" C:\Database\databaseName.accdb
Exit

We have c:\Database setup as a Trusted Location.

Basically what we have is a Front End Back End set up. The user double clicks the .bat file and it copies the Frontend to the users computer and then opens it. My windows 7 users will run the .bat and login to the database and then whatever button they click, they get a message telling them that they have lost connection with the server and the database closes.

It only occurs to the Windows 7 users. The XP users have no issues with it. The .bat file has worked like a charm for over 5 years. Since the company is slowly switching everyone to Win 7, I need to find a solution to this issue.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanx
RHM

No I'm not. Since we dont have Admin privileges for the Windows 7 computers, is there another way around this?
