(To resolve this problem, start the computer by using a Windows Preinstallation Environment (Windows PE) disc for Windows 7. Then, start the computer in normal mode.

If you do not have a Windows PE disc, start the computer by using a Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows Server 2008 installation DVD, and then start the computer in normal mode.

To prevent this problem from reccurring, apply update 974431. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Hello bmx400, and "Welcome to the Seven Forums."
Please help us help you by posting your "Systems Specs" in your user CP. This is important because it allows those who want to help get an idea of what the problem may be.

Now; the first question is what Win 7 version are you using (32 bit or 64 bit), the second question is where did you purchase you copy of Windows 7.

Here is a possible solution to your problem: Put in the Win 7 OS disc you used to set up your computer with. When the screen comes up and ask you what you want to do, select "Repair Operating System." This will allow you to restore your computer back to a point before the problem started.

Lets us know if this works that way we can offer more help if it doesn't.
