My neighbours are havving a problem with there computer:

it is a medion computer from ALDI.
it has an pentium CPU of 3GHz

With anvidea geforce 6700 XL videocard.

i suspect it is the vidoecard that fails but i'm not sure. can you guys help me out?

You can see on the screens that there are blue bricks and lines all over the screen.

when starting up it starts with the intel logo but on it there are white letters all over the screen.
the next screen is a black screen with à on it. and then it starts up but with bblue lines.

when i take screenshots of it and put them on my laptop the blue lines are not visible anymore. i tested the screen but it wrked well when pluged in on my laptop.

here are som screens:

all the pictures where taken in safty mode becous first i couldnt start up and got a blue screen. then i installed newest driver for the card (not onboard) and then i could start not in safe mode. all color settings are correct. is it possible that the grafics card is just broken (somthing in the hardware) ? and i need to replace it?

Welcome to SevenForums. First off if it has an onboard graphics you need to disable it in the bios.
You could be experiencing a driver conflict.
Also check the cables and connections, make sure their are no bent pins and they are tighten properly.
.
You should also download Evga Precision and monitor the cards Temps. I would also suggest opening up the case and make sure the card is seated properly and also look for any dust or debris that might be hampering the cards ability to cool itself.

Evga Precision |MG| EVGA Precision 2.0.0 Download

You might also want to check in device manager to see what is listed under display adapters if their are no yellow exclamation points and both graphics are listed then disable the intel in the bios.

Try reinstalling the driver for the Nvidia card then. Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers

It would also help to know the motherboard>power supply and all the other specs on the system in question.
If you have another desktop to try the card in do that this will help to determine if it's the card
Thanks.
Fabe

thanks for the reply.

i'll try doing all these things today.

i hope i can fix the problem.
the computer and all its components is 5 years old and never cleaned so maybe that"s the problem indeed.
